Connection Method: The pipe is inserted into the flange and screwed in, providing a mechanical joint that can be easily assembled/disassembled, or sometimes welded for extra security.
Raised Face (RF): The sealing surface is raised above the bolting circle, which helps concentrate pressure on the gasket for a better seal.
Thread Specification: Conforms to ASME B1.20.1 (NPT), a 60-degree taper thread that requires a sealant (like PTFE tape) to create a fluid-tight seal.
Common Materials: Forged Carbon Steel (ASTM A105), Stainless Steel (304/304L, 316/316L), and Low-Temperature Carbon Steel (A350 LF2)
